The
X-Files OK, here's my theory on the X-Files and all the occult, supernatural, and extraterrestrial stuff on the show. Now, do me a favor and save a favor and save a copy of this. If you come back one day and my entire site is gone, and you can't get in touch with me, you'll know why. =) I'm a firm believer in things extraterrestrial, mostly out of humility. I can't fathom that with our planet being one of nine (possibly ten now) in one solar system of many in this galaxy, which is one of many in this universe, that we are the sole living creatures of intelligence, or that if there are other life forms on other planets, that we are the most advanced of all. To me, to believe that we are the greatest, most technologically advanced life forms in a universe too vast for our technology to measure and explore accurately is a grand act of egotism. That being said, here's my theory on the X-Files. I believe that most of the stories on the X-Files about government cover-ups of extraterrestrial and other encounters are based in truth. I think the government allows the show to broadcast these story ideas and even encourages it for one very simple reason: it's on TV You would think that the government would want to keep these things out of the media, which is what conspiracy theorists have been saying has been attempted for years. But now people are too curious and untrusting. So the powers that be allow the ideas to be passed throughout the media freely. It's like the TV has become an active Weekly World News or the Inquirer. Most people don't believe anything they read in those rags. They've lost credibility. But often enough, some of the articles are actually true. The government, understanding the principle "don't believe everything you read", or in this case, "just because it's on TV, doesn't mean it's real" allows the stories to be told because should anyone "discover" that the story was actually true, the govt. can simply turn around and say "c'mon now, that was a story on the X-Files, that's not real." And in one sentence, they can debase any claims because this "crazed" person is claiming that what they saw on a fictional show is actually real. There's my theory. Now remember, if my site or I disappear without a trace, you might know why.
